France to chair Alliance 8.7

The new Chair of Alliance 8.7 is Ms. Anousheh Karvar, representative of the French Government to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Labour and Employment Senior Task Officer to G7-G20, since June 2018.

She chairs the Global Partnership for the Eradication of Child Labour, Forced labour, Human trafficking and Modern Slavery (Alliance 8.7, named after the target 8.7 of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda).

In 2012, she joined the General Inspectorate for Social Affairs (the French Government audit, evaluation and inspection office for health, social security, social cohesion, employment and labour policies and organisations) as a Senior Officer and was appointed as the Head of Labour and Employment Section of the office.

She was formerly Deputy Director of the Minister of Labour’s cabinet (2016-2017), and Counsellor to the President of the Parliament in charge of social and territorial cohesion policies (2017-2018).

She holds a PhD in History and Sociology of Science, University of Paris – Denis Diderot.

Australia officially handed over to France as Chair of Alliance 8.7 during the Global Coordinating Group meeting in July 2019.
