Strengthening the evidence base

The ILO’s global data platforms on child labour, forced labour and trafficking in persons, support users with comprehensive global and country-level information. Together they provide stakeholders with a stronger evidence base to inform policy development, implementation and monitoring.

The global and national research agendas aim to identify priority focus areas to advance global and national efforts against forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking and child labour.

The Evidence Gap Maps are designed to offer the opportunity to all stakeholders to initiate and support research on child labour, forced labour and human trafficking addressing the identified priority areas.

This database aims to contribute to the sharing of information and facilitating synergies among donors on projects contributing to SDG Target 8.7.

The bibliography takes stock of existing research, data and policies on forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking and child labour, to inform global and national evidence gaps.

The specially tailored online space allows policy actors to easily access evidence-based policies that have shown positive results in combatting forced labour and child labour in relevant contexts.

Alliance 8.7 recognizes the importance of engaging survivors and survivor networks, in particular in the Pathfinder Country process in developing, implementing and reporting on national SDG 8.7 Roadmaps.  The lessons learnt document provides crucial insights on engaging survivors and survivor networks in a meangful way.
